Listed below are the acts booked for this year's festival. There is also a brief description of each act.
BLACKSTREET BOYS (USA)
Absolute and utter mayhem! Alfred and Seymour have honed their skills on the streets of L.A. & New York. When they hit Australia they will either be deported or become national heroes. Rapid fire comedy, outrageous stage antics, audience paticipation. Think Eddie Murphy times 2.
PATRICK McCULLAGH

A touch of the Blarney is what sets this cheeky Irishman apart from other performers. He's the sort of guy you might meet in sideshow alley or on some inner city street corner. He made such an impression in 2007 we've invited him back. Comedy, closeup magic, illusion, sleight of hand and to be MC of all the night time shows.
POGO DUDES - NEW YORK
Forget what you know about pogo sticks; The Pogo Dudes have taken bouncing on to a whole new level! Watch world record holder Fred Gryzbowski bounce over 7 feet in the sky, see freestyle moves by Nick McClintock on an air powered pogo stick and laugh till it hurts as the stunt comedian "Wacky Chad" performs hilarious comical antics in this spectacular pogo trio!
HARDEY MCMURRICK - Fremantle WA
Mister Hardyhaha, the unique and highly animated clown could be described as Charlie Chaplin crossed with a ferret in a sock. He takes his audience on a journey through his world of poetic absurdity. Constantly on the look out for moments of real life strangeness his performance is a continuous roll of improvisations punctuated with feats of physical skill.
CAPTAIN QUIRK - Also from WA
The “Captain Quirk Show” is an action packed comedic character juggling and manipulation show, set to a specially composed Funky/Quirky soundtrack. This is a highly technical and zaney show. Including Seven Ball Juggling, five clubs, Hat Manipulation/dance, and a unique finale - Captain Quirk is perched high above the ground on a Rolla Bolla Stack, on top of his head is a helmet with a great flame dancing about on top of which is welded a small frying pan. As the music and mood of the show build he launches into juggling a bowling ball, a blade and an egg which will amazingly land up top for lunch!
JEREMY ELWOOD
Forget rehab, check yourself into one of Jeremy’s shows. It’ll do more for you in 40 minutes than 2 weeks of rehab and it wont cost you an arm and a leg. Born in Canada, raised in the U.K., and currently based in New Zealand, this award winning stand up comedian has garnered critical and popular acclaim for his no-holds-barred style, and intelligent, relevant material. He has firmly established himself as one of the rising stars of the New Zealand Stand up comedy circuit. Combining biting social commentary with music, song and devastating delivery, Jeremy’s unique blend of audience rapport and rock and roll showmanship has earned him praise around New Zealand and the world.
MICHELE A’COURT
NZ’s Best Female Comedian 2002 – 2007. Women everywhere will really relate to this girl! If you are a fella, spend 30 minutes listening and you may be well on the way to understanding women a whole lot better. What a start – Michele deliciously articulates what it means to be a Kiwi, a female and a mum of a teenage daughter (who's life revolves around her mobile phone, shopping and boys).
KEVIN BLOODY WILSON - Australia
One of this country's biggest name comedians and certainly our most irreverant. When tickets go on sale GET IN EARLY! DILLIGAF!!!
SEAN CHOOLBURRA - Austalia
One of the real stars of this years Melbourne Comedy Festival Gala, Sean returns from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to delight audiences with his unique perspective on the Australian lifestyle. You have seen him on The Footy Show, now see him live, up close and in person.
